Moodle LDAP Setup

If you work in the education sector, you have heard of Moodle. Even if you are not an educator, you have heard about it through the grape vine. While there is a ton of documentation on how to setup all of the versions of Moodle, one common problem for administrators is setting up LDAP Authentication. I have seen every answer in the world on the docs.moodle.com site, and the vast majority of these answers, are, well wrong. So I thought, I would give you the scenario, and if it applies to you, use it. Scenario: Moodle installed on Apache2 on Linux Ubuntu 10.04LTS Moodle server is able to ping a Windows Server 2003 or 2008 (R2) Directory Server (Domain Controller).
